History

The Purple Tannin Club was founded in the Fall of 1997 by David Driman and Ken Alanen in London, Ontario, Canada.  The goal was to have an organized forum for a group of friends to learn about wine and to have fun doing so. The other original members were Ted Tweedie, Justin Amann and Mike Jacoby.

Jan 1998 – Art Plewes joins
Feb 1998 – Jane Amann, Tracey Elliott, Michele Barbeau, Pam Jacoby and Deb Plewes join
Oct 1998 – Igor and Rita Prokopiw join
May 1999 – Art and Deb Plewes leave (and move to Edmonton)
Jun 1999 – Mike and Pam Jacoby leave (and move to New Brunswick); Ken Alanen and Tracy Elliott leave (for fellowship training)
Nov 1999 – John Radwan joins
Sep 2000 – John and Suzanne Kaufmann, Louise Raymond and Neil Duggal join
Jun 2002 – John Radwan leaves (and moves to Mississauga)
Jun 2003 – Rita and Igor Prokopiw leave (and move to the US)
